People who have the brainpower to ask the right questions might have said this to themselves at one point:
"Eeerm why is Mario Combat grouped with Power Star on the Mysticcombat.com Cinemplex?"


Well thats just because, I like to think that Power star happens immedatly after Mario Combat. Both where made by the same guy and as such they use the same sprites, sound effects - yknow general assets and shit. And it just makes it more badass since THIS is what mario is capable of in power star. Anything that involves the playable character being the final boss makes me horny
I say that i like to think, but i dont, because its not just headcanon on my part.

Anyways, back on topic, this game is fucking awsome. Thers only one button but all the attacks feel great and have distinctinct functions its genuiny not bad. The main flaw is just that i wish there was fucking MORE! I mean what kind of beatemup has an elevator section... with only 3 enimies total in it -_-

Granted theres only one enimie type in total but what the fuck? When i see an elevator in a beatemup my balls should tense harder than yujiro when back smacked his ass!

I say the main flaw is that i wish there was more, and thats true, but my prayer might be redudnat since this game has a sequel! Mario Combat Deliuxe! You can play it in the repository, but since that doenst have descriptions i wana type about it here: I never realised it was an "offical" sequel untill I stole it to add to the list! I read Daniel Suns name on the side but he seems to have never uploaded it to his newgrounds so.. idk i just thought it was fake but no. I cross refrenced how he draws blood with the sprites in Mario Combat Deluxe and it appears to be real. After playing it its not hard to see why he never uploaded Deluxe to his newgrounds though: It sucks! Mario Combat is way better in every single way just play it and see what I mean. The attacks in Deluxe lack "function" and "purpose". There all stolen attacks from smash bros rather than mostly original, and there worse off for it since im not trying to launch im trying to combo!

Sooo yeah, i still do need more. MORE MORE MORE MORE . Daniel Sun is still out there making games, and that wiki i linked earlier has like 3 fan made power star games. Wonder if either of those are any good.. idk havent gotten to it yet. Look sweet though, just liek this game!
